I help ambitious people get most out of career / life and be truly fulfilled

The three most important things in my life are (friends and) family, sports and business.

I was born and brought up near Leiden and also lived in Twente for 3 years (11-14 years old).

I studied in Amsterdam, where I met my wife. We have 2 kids.

The 3 most important things in my Life are (friends and) family, sports and work.
My main passion has always been ‘sports’, both watching sports as well as participating in sports (more below).

Other hobbies/ passions of mine include music (Beethoven, Beatles, Sasha, British 80’s pop, progressive house music) and reading (self-help, psychology, performance).

"I coach people with an ambition and willingness to get most out of their careers and / or life. I help them see what astonishing things they are capable of, identify who they really are, what they truly want, how to get there and how to overcome obstacles. Together we identify and alienate limiting beliefs, self-sabotage, procrastination and get into action"

Business Life

After 14 years of Champions League of the Financial Services sector, I opted to go in a new direction: Coaching.

After getting my Masters Degree in Economics (University of Amsterdam) in 2002, I started my career in the Financial Services industry as a stockbroker (Equity Sales).

I spend the first 3 years with 2 Dutch Banks (Rabo and Kempen) before moving to a bigger stage. For 14 years, I worked for Global platforms, working for Morgan Stanley (2006-2008) and Citigroup (2009-2019). I lived and worked in London, Dubai and Amsterdam, covering Global Asset Managers.

It was an inspiring experience to work together with highly motivated and talented people and go after a common goal. I also enjoyed helping (junior) colleagues get better at their job and coaching and mentoring them.
Towards the end of the decade, as the industry was changing, I felt as if I wasn’t on the right track anymore. I started to work together with a coach and eventually left the Financial Services industry to pursue a new career, coaching.

Sports Life

Sports: the most important side issue in my Life!

Hockey has always been my #1 sport. As a child, I played for regional teams and national youth teams. As a student, I played for Gooische hockey club at the second level.

During my playing career, I started training and coaching junior teams. After my playing career was over, I continued with training and coaching junior teams, but also picked up senior teams. I was trainer of the first ladies team of Gooische hockey club from 2001 till 2003, trainer of the first men’s team of Gooische 3 times (2001-2002, 2005-2006, 2018-2019) and was trainer of the first men’s team at Huizen for 3 years (2019-2022). I also coached a couple of Indoor teams: Huizen Heren 1 (2nd division) and Laren Dames 1 (Premier League). Since June 2022, I am Coach of Huizen Dames 1 (Promotieklasse).

I also love playing Golf (hcp 8) and Running (I run a couple of times a week and ran a marathon a few years ago).

Apart from participating in Sports, I also love watching sports like Formula 1, Golf, Hockey, Speed skating, Baseball.

Coaching Life

After a successful business career and solid foundation in courses, I am here to help you!

In Life, Business and Sports, I experienced both up’s and down’s.

I, for example, got made redundant by employers, dropped from squads and didn’t make teams I was keen to play for.

All these experience helped me develop into who I am today, both as a person and as a coach. I am grateful for all of my set-backs as they have also enabled me to find strength, resilience and motivation and helped me be successful in business, in sports and (most importantly) in Life.

I now coach people with an ambition and willingness to get most out of their careers and/ or life. I help them see what astonishing things they are capable of, identify who they really are, what they truly want, how to get there and how to overcome obstacles. Together we identify and alienate limiting beliefs, self-sabotage, procrastination and get into action.
